Welcome to 2nd Grade!

We look forward to seeing all of you in August. Until then, we hope that everyone is having a great summer and keeping their bodies and brains active.  Second grade is a year of curiosity, confidence, and new adventures! Students will dive deeper into reading, writing, math, science, and social studies while developing the skills they need to become independent thinkers and lifelong learners. We are excited to watch each child grow academically, socially, and personally throughout the year.

Before school begins, we encourage all students to take part in the Summer Slide Challenge. A little reading, writing, and math practice over the summer can make a big difference and help students start the year ready to learn.

Be sure to join us for Meet the Teacher on Friday, August 7th, where you'll have the opportunity to visit the classroom, meet your teacher, and drop off school supplies. Then, we'll kick off an amazing year together on the First Day of School, Monday, August 10th!

This page will be your place for classroom news, important reminders, helpful resources, and celebrations throughout the year. We can't wait to begin this exciting journey with our Second Grade Manatees!
