Welcome to Kindergarten!

We are so excited to begin this incredible journey with you and your child. Whether your child is returning from our VPK program or joining the MACS family for the first time, we are thrilled to welcome you! Kindergarten is an exciting year filled with new adventures, meaningful friendships, and opportunities to learn and grow every day.

Our goal is to create a safe, caring, and engaging classroom where every child feels valued, encouraged, and excited to learn. Through hands-on activities, exploration, and play, students will build important academic and social skills while developing confidence and a love for learning.

As you prepare for the new school year, we encourage all of our incoming kindergarten students to participate in the Summer Slide Challenge! The challenge includes fun reading opportunities and simple at-home activities that help reinforce important skills before school begins. Spending a little time reading, talking, playing, and learning together throughout the summer will help your child feel confident and ready for a successful start.

We look forward to seeing everyone at Meet the Teacher on Friday, August 7th, where you'll have the opportunity to visit the classroom, meet your child's teacher, and get ready for an exciting year ahead. The first day of school is Monday, August 10th, and we can't wait to welcome our kindergarten students!

We believe that a strong partnership between home and school is the foundation for a successful year. Thank you for allowing us to be part of your child's educational journey. We look forward to a year filled with learning, laughter, growth, and wonderful memories.

Home Activities:

Cutting, gluing, sidewalk chalk, playdough, and having your students color are great ways to help build hand strength.

• UFLI News: UFLI is a program we use throughout the school to help build phonics skills in students. You can check out free resources if you want to get a head start and check out any of the resources they offer this summer.
