** NOTICE- Due to the Alachua County School District’s rezoning plans, MACS Alachua County residents may receive a letter from the district indicating that they need to re-register for a zoning exemption. If your student is remaining at MACS, you DO NOT NEED to take any action. Your student will remain registered at MACS.
** The book, A Land Remembered by Patrick D. Smith is being filmed. A scene from one of the earliest settings is being filmed in Micanopy in mid May. We are excited that our 3rd- 6th grade students may have an opportunity to tour the set. This filming will affect the traffic patterns temporarily. We will provide additional details as the time approaches.
This was an IMPORTANT week of testing among our 3rd-6th grade students. From the looks of the scores so far, our students put forth their best effort. We are seeing GREAT proficiency and growth scores. Student reports will be sent home next Friday.
Students in grades K-2 will participate in a waterslide party on May 14 and students in grades 3-6 will have an opportunity to go to Camp Cuscawilla for a pool party. Sign your permission slip, help sponsor and volunteer to help.

· May 21—Staff vs. 5th Kickball game @ 1:00
· May 22- 5th grade Promotion Ceremony @ 9:00
· May 25- Memorial Day- No School
· May 29- Field Day- Early Release
· June 1- House Celebration- Wear House Colors
· June 2- 8:30- VPK Celebration, 9:45 Kindergarten Celebration, Last Day of School- Early Release
